The PhD program at the School of Dentistry, University of Zagreb has been offered since 2007/2008.
It was launched following an international audit and approval by the National Council for Higher Education and Science.

The curriculum is linked to scientific projects and supported by continuous mentorship from leading experts.
Covers areas within Biomedicine and Health Sciences: basic and clinical dental sciences, public health and health care.
Students first acquire core methodological and research skills, followed by specialized coursework.
Since 2016/2017, the program emphasizes scientific research:
36 ECTS – coursework
144 ECTS – research activities, conference presentations and publication in peer-reviewed international journals.
