Welcome to the University of Zagreb School of Dental Medicine, a renowned institution with over 60 years of tradition, excellence, and innovation in dental education, research, and clinical practice.


Founded in 1962, our school has educated more than 6,500 dentists who are now serving the community and advancing oral health worldwide.


Our school offers a 6-year program in Dental Medicine taught in English for international students. It provides a comprehensive education that combines theoretical knowledge, state-of-the-art research, and extensive hands-on clinical experience. Students gain practical skills by working with patients early in their studies, guided by our dedicated and highly experienced teachers. We collaborate with leading international experts in dentistry, welcoming esteemed guest professors who enrich our academic community. CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

for enrolment of students into the three-years (six semesters) postgraduate university studies pursing the academic degree of a doctor of science in 2015/2016 academic year

The postgraduate university programme leading to obtaining the academic degree of a doctor of science is a three-year programme. The programme consists of methodological and topical courses, and also extracurricular scientific practice, pursuant to the prescribed points system. Teaching is planned to start in winter term of 2015/2016 academic year. The academic degree of a doctor of science (dr.sc.) is awarded upon completion of studies. Total tuition cost is 54,000.00 Kuna.

Admission criteria:

  • completed studies in dental medicine/ stomatology or any other university graduate studies in the field of biomedicine
  • students enrolled in other doctoral programmes may take individual courses, as recommended by their respected mentor
  • graduate study grades: average grade of more than 3.50 for part-time students, and 4.00 for full-time students
  • two letters of recommendation from research and teaching staff
  • knowledge of the English language

Application and necessary documentation:

  • application (form available on www.sfzg.hr),
  • citizenship certificate or proof of citizenship (for foreign citizens),
  • birth certificate,
  • diploma or notarized copy of a diploma attesting to completion of studies in the field of biomedical disciplines,
  • notarized grades' transcript of graduate studies,
  • notarized copy of a diploma attesting to obtained degree of a master of science (if the applicant is mr.sc.),
  • certified excerpt from the student grade book (indeks) for postgraduate studies with grades obtained in all subjects (if the applicant is mr.sc.),
  • resume,
  • list of published scientific and professional articles (a confirmation from the Dental School or University Library should be submitted for CC citation index),
  • proof of knowledge of the English language,
  • letters of recommendation

  • payment confirmation.

An interview with applicants is a mandatory part of the admissions procedure, and shall be held following an e-mail invitation.
