For five consecutive editions, from 2022 to 2026, the University of Zagreb School of Dental Medicine has ranked #1 in Eastern Europe in Dentistry, according to the SCImago Institutions Rankings.

In the 2026 edition, the School ranked 1st among 44 universities in Eastern Europe, 16th among 178 universities in the European Union (EU-27), and 93rd among 795 universities worldwide. This also represents its highest-ever position in the EU-27, placing it among the top 10% of EU universities ranked in Dentistry.

The School’s progress is particularly notable when compared with 2021, the first edition of the SCImago rankings to include Dentistry, when it ranked 179th worldwide and 54th in the EU-27. By 2026, it had advanced to 93rd worldwide and 16th in the EU-27, despite the global ranking expanding from 527 to 795 universities over the same period.

These achievements demonstrate the University of Zagreb School of Dental Medicine’s sustained excellence and strengthening international position in the field of Dentistry.
