The Virtual World Congress of Dental Students is an innovative project by a national dental students' association in Croatia – Udruga studenata dentalne medicine. The 1st Virtual World Congress of Dental Students, held in May 2011, was a huge success and gathered a number of dental students and professors from five continents. It is one of few virtual congresses held in the world and, to our knowledge, first such congress for dental students.

The idea behind this project is to give every dental student (even students who perhaps would not be able to attend traditional meetings due to distance and cost) a chance to present a scientific paper to colleagues and teachers and be awarded. Our aim is to encourage students to take part in research activities and to increase communication and collaboration among dental schools.

Congress programme includes Key Note lectures and eOral presentations. Registration for active participants and abstract submission is open until February 23, 2015. Active participation by presenting results of research is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students in the biomedical filed. Passive participants will be able to register until the end of April 2015.

It does not matter what part of the world you live and study in. If you have a computer connected to the Internet, you can become part of the event and exchange your experiences, ideas and knowledge with a number of students and professors from different parts of the (dental) world.
